Meet the Instructors

Your instructors are our co-founders Dr. Veltmann and Dr. Kline, who collectively have more than 25 years practicing Genomic Medicine along with decades of teaching.

With extensive backgrounds in nutrition science and genomics, along with conventional, functional and integrative medicine, they are able to provide both scientific background and real-world clinical solutions.

Read more about your instructors here.

“This course should be mandatory for anyone pursuing personalized medicine: Genomics demystified. It looks at the impact of genomics on our biochemical soup–the molecular basis of human physiology. With well-considered scientific evidence and a digestible review of biochemistry, Joe Veltmann and Bobbi Kline carefully provide information aimed to generate practical, client-specific lifestyle and nutritional prescriptions that up- or down-regulate genes and molecular pathways to promote wellness. What an awesome course!! Highly recommended!”

Mary Jo Fishburn MD

Prerequisites &  Requirements

You must be a physician (MD, DO, ND, DC, DOM), dietitian, nurse practitioner, clinical pharmacist or other licensed healthcare provider in an active clinical practice, working with patients in the areas of diet and lifestyle.

A basic foundation in nutrition, biochemistry and physiology is required. Knowledge of functional medicine and/or functional nutrition is highly recommended.

Earn Continuing Education Credits

The program is accredited for 100 CME through a partnership with Westbrook University. We are also a CDR Accredited Provider, and provide 24 CPE credits for the Monthly Group Coaching portion.

Not all licensing bodies accept all forms of continuing education credits. It is your responsibility to check with the licensing agency of your state/province, country, and/or professional specialty on CPE/CME requirements.

Get Certified

You can choose to earn certification in addition to your learning. Your Certified Genomic Medicine Clinician® credential demonstrates to colleagues and patients that you are an expert leading this new field. You’ll also be eligible for patient referrals.

Once you have successfully completed the coursework, including the exams, you’ll submit a case study for your final step in certification.

“This Genomic Medicine Training program is unparalleled. Dr. Joe and Dr. Bobbi present the coursework in a sophisticated way that is both engaging and easy for a clinician to understand. I would highly recommend this invaluable program to all Functional Medicine practitioners.”

Jasmine Singh PharmD

“I LOVE this course! It is so amazing to understand better how our human body is functioning, the interconnections between biological systems and the impact of gene variants and nutrient deficiency. I learned so much and will adapt the way I approach my work with my clients. I also am including those concepts into my educational talks. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us with such enthusiasm!”

The Curriculum

Our program consists of about 65 hours of instruction over seven Modules, with additional self-study integration assignments and tests for every Module. You have unlimited access to your pre-recorded sessions and lesson materials for a whole year, so you can learn on your own schedule.

Each Module comes with a Study Guide – complete with syllabus, timing outlines, slides for note taking, and references – PLUS research papers and other resources for further in-depth learning. You’ll also get a separate compilation of full page slides – handy for those biochemical pathways!

Monthly Group Coaching

Learning about all the elements of Genomic Medicine is only one part of the process. As clinicians, we learn best by doing. And you aren’t doing this alone – you have full support as you integrate your new knowledge into your practice, and start using this with your patients.

In addition to the self-paced content outlined below, you also have access to Monthly Group Coaching sessions. These are live sessions where you can ask questions and get help with patient cases and any challenges you are having as you implement your knowledge.

"Fabulous teaching - many thanks! I spend most of my clinical time seeing patients with chronic disease, symptoms and impairments secondary to degenerative and inflammatory conditions……. the underpinnings of my patients conditions fits so well with upstream metabolic/oxidative/inflammatory pathways related to your teachings. I'm excited to start implementing genomics into my functional medicine approach."
