Personalizing Nutrient Requirements and Resolving Nutritional Paradoxes Using Genomic Medicine

An in-depth approach to nutritional biochemistry of key nutrient pathways, the impact of gene SNPs, and clinical applications.

In Module 2, we’ll discuss key nutrients in the context of their biochemistry, the impact of genomics on the absorption, transport, and utilization and how this may be associated with health or disease.

Learning Objectives

  • Monogenic vs Polygenic approach.
  • Key Nutrient Pathways: Vitamins A, C, D, E; B vitamins (including folate/homocysteine cycles); CoQ10; Omega fatty acids; Selenium; Calcium.
  • Micronutrients, Genes and Examples of Nutrigenetic and Nutrigenomic Interventions.
  • Laboratory Testing and Biomarkers.
  • Case Studies.
